In Europe thousands of enthusiastic players queued in front of select stores beginning in the early afternoon, taking part in contests and activities as the excitement began to build before the midnight launch. Whether dressed a World of Warcraft character, surrounded by their fellow guild members, or supporting their factions with battle shouts, everyone got into the party spirit. Tons of goodies were distributed amongst the crowd as part of the celebration. When midnight finally arrived, the doors opened, allowing the excited crowds to be among the first to obtain the expansion. In some locations, Blizzard executives were on hand to sign the boxes and chat with the players, and their mood was equally buoyant as the night progressed.
